Well...this one is a LITTLE more easier than the favourite male character. Oddly enough for me, I really don't like many female protagonists.
It's because my favourites DIE. I'm saving them. I'm the true hero.
On one hand, I really like Aimee Finecky from The Spectacular Now. She is one of the only female characters (not the protagonist) that I really thought, "Wow, I would want to be your best friend. I could see us being very close!".
Here is a quote one critic wrote about her -
"But The Spectacular Now includes that thing that some folks are loathe to credit —a real, honest-to-goodness pretty geek girl. Aimee Finicky (Shailene Woodley) playing the female lead, knows her geometry and is in French club and is generally smart the way geeks are smart. She's also socially awkward the way geeks are awkward—she doesn't drink, has never had a boyfriend, giggles painfully whenever she talks, and performs bizarre conversational segues at family dinners. And if those clues aren't enough, she's into manga. Case closed."
I absolutely adore Aimee, and I've been in her place so many times (Besides the whole 'a-guy-likes-her' thing)
Aimee Finecky is a rare beauty inside and out. She is incredible.
But on the other hand...I really love Cather Avery. She is probably the female character (She's actually the protagonist!) that the entire book I kept stating to myself, and to Savannah and Mara, that I was her. In every essence of the word. She is awkward, she is clumsy, she is socially anxious, she is scared of trying new things and she is geeky! I am so torn between these two female characters...so I'm both :P I accept both. They are both my favourite!
