Plot Summary- Cather has just started college and her identical twin Wren has decided that she wants to start being more independent, distancing herself from Cather. Cath isn't so out-going, preferring instead to not leave her room and stay up late writing fan-fiction. Then her roommate's best friend, Levi starts hitting on her, but she's all "I don't have time for this Levi!" Because she failed one of her classes and is continuously stressing about her father's manic personality and her sister's party lifestyle.
What I liked- Levi. Levi is what I liked about this book. It was cute and easy and enjoyable enough to read, but Levi really made it all worth it. I'll take one fictional man like that please.
What I didn't like- There was a lot about this book that seriously frustrated me. Firstly, Cath spends her whole time writing fan-fiction which is one area of fandom life I have so far avoided (except for a few Kili/Fili when they were kids stories), so I didn't really relate to that aspect and I didn't even relate to the fan-fiction she was writing because it was based on some made-up Harry Potter spin-off. It kinda made me feel left out of the loop, like when your fandom friends are talking about something you haven't seen/read yet. I also expected there to be more general fandom references throughout the book. There were a few off-handed comments about like Twilight and X-men, but it didn't satisfy. Lastly, the book was written in 3rd person, so I expected the tone/writing style of the general narrative and the chunks of fan-fiction to not be exactly the same. That annoyed me.
I know most people are totally in love with this book and maybe that's why I was disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high.
